Somehow I’ve had the i8 twice as long as the M6 but put 2x the miles on the M6. I assume it’s because I normally pick that car for long distance road trips but I feel like I’m in the i8 a lot more.
Meanwhile the Lincoln is ready for the Targa California in a couple of weeks.

I still think BMW should take the i8 put the running gear of the M6 in it and release it as a new M1. Between the i8 and the M6 GC, the M6 is definitely the car I would rather be in. The competition package one just makes everything even better.

They keep teasing an i8 with the rear seats removed (they are useless anyhow and an impediment to using the HOV lanes near me legally - so take my rears, please!) and putting in a modern I6 with roughly 80% more HP than the current I3. To which I say yes please.

My body wasn’t ready for that Lincoln! I’m going to need a moment. Oh, my loins...

How are you liking the i8 so far?

Other than the Lincoln, it’s the car that gets the most attention out of every car I’ve probably ever had. So there are a lot of pluses and minuses that come along with that. Otherwise, and other than getting into the car which can sometimes be a pain, it’s great. Much quicker than expected at legal speeds, and fun to drive on curvy roads.

I’ve driven CCC’s a decent amount, and I’m pretty sure only our bright green Huracan gets more attention... I’ve always found it a bit too disconnected on twisty roads though

just because you mentioned it and I’m curious, what other cars have you had?

Ever? Oh man the list is long. Things that are flashy or unusual include a BMW 850i, a Maserati Gran Turismo, a bunch of old Mopars, and an inka orange E9 which I thought we be higher on the look-at-me list but there you go. It gets about as much attention as a friend’s 458 I borrowed for a weekend (and way more picture-takers), although the plural of anecdote obviously isn’t data.

Yeah I remember the E9, that thing is gorgeous. You've still got that right? But I see your point about the color, you'd think the orange would grab a lot of attention.

Still got it! It’s in my avatar.

Oh yeah I see that now! Avatars aren't super visible on mobile and I didn't even look closely haha

Looking squeaky clean. I finally figured out a solution to my now garage/driveway-less existence and Santa Clara County’s PITA no car-wash rules.
Random aside. Are you aware of any car outfits where I could rent a 60's Lincoln ‘vert for my wedding day? Fiancee’s Hindu family requires the groomsmen and I enter the wedding in some grandiose manner and a horse or elephant is not my style.

In the bay area? There are a few of them but none for rent as far as I know.
However, I love the elephant idea. That’s what I’d do in your shoes. I mean come on this is awesome!

Yessir. Getting a quote or two on an elephant now, trying not to go bankrupt but it is a once in a lifetime deal.

Made a few calls, $10K for a few elephant hours. Too rich for my blood!

It’s probably easier to rent a convertible corvette than a 60's lincoln

Convertible Maybach 62. Very grandiose.
